Programme Objectives

The modern workplace is highly challenging and demanding. The business environment is described as VUCA; Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous. Employees seem to struggle to adapt and thrive in the VUCA business environment.

A 2001 study conducted for Capital magazine showed that 85 per cent of managers experienced stress in their professional lives, and 86 per cent of these felt that stress had increased in recent years.

Ever-higher demands on performance and results, growing time pressure, constant change, “zero defects,” and the end of lifetime employment put employees in a state of never-ending stress with severe consequences.

Can people learn to manage their stress to limit the risks?

During this two day training programme, managers and employees will learn to: spot the signs of stress, control the manifestations of stress, act on the problem, and change their mindset. They will also know that:

    • Stress is a phenomenon that helps people cope with difficult situations. As such, it must not be seen as purely negative.
    • Stress becomes destructive only when it exceeds a certain threshold.
    • People can improve their resistance to stress by learning to interpret situations differently and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
    • Stress management is a skill that can benefit individuals and the organization.
