COURSE DESCRIPTION
Many organisations today execute strategy through projects, yet a significant number of projects still suffer from poor initiation, weak stakeholder alignment, inadequate planning, unclear governance, scope creep, cost overruns, schedule delays, ineffective communication, unmanaged risks, and poor benefits realisation.
In many cases, project managers and project team members are technically competent but lack a structured, globally recognised framework for integrating people, processes, business value, governance, risk, agile thinking, hybrid delivery, sustainability, and performance measurement.
The changing project environment has also made project management more complex. Organisations now expect project leaders to deliver measurable value, respond to uncertainty, work with diverse stakeholders, apply predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, use digital tools responsibly, and align project outcomes with strategic business objectives. However, many professionals still manage projects primarily through experience, intuition, or departmental practices rather than by globally accepted project management standards.
This training is therefore designed to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, mindset, and exam-readiness required to understand and apply the PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition and the PMP® examination framework. It will help participants strengthen their ability to lead projects, manage teams and stakeholders, plan and control project work, deliver value, respond to business changes, and prepare confidently for the PMP® certification examination.
Training Objectives
At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Understand the structure, philosophy and key concepts of the PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition.
- Explain the PMP® examination framework, domains, tasks, enablers and question style.
- Apply project management principles to real organisational and business situations.
- Develop a value-driven approach to project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure.
- Select appropriate predictive, agile or hybrid delivery approaches based on project context.
- Strengthen stakeholder engagement, team leadership, conflict management, communication and collaboration.
- Build practical project documents such as project charters, stakeholder registers, scope statements, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, risk registers and communication plans.
