Course Description

This 3-day course provides a comprehensive introduction to Scrum and Agile project management methodologies. Participants will learn the principles of Agile, the roles and responsibilities within a Scrum team, and how to apply these methods to manage projects effectively.

Introduction to Agile and Scrum

o    Importance of Agile and Scrum in project management

·        Introduction to Agile Methodology

o    Principles and values of Agile (Agile Manifesto)

o    Benefits of Agile project management

·        Agile Frameworks Overview

o    Comparison of popular Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP)

o    Choosing the right Agile framework for your project

·        Introduction to Scrum

o    History and evolution of Scrum

o    Key concepts and terminology in Scrum (Sprint, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, etc.)

·        Case Study: Transitioning to Agile

o    Hands-on exercise analyzing a traditional project management scenario

o    Discussion on transitioning to Agile methodologies

DAY TWO

Scrum Roles, Events, and Artifacts

·        Scrum Roles and Responsibilities

o    Scrum Team structure: Product Owner, Scrum Master, Development Team

o    Responsibilities and interactions of each role

·        Scrum Events

o    Overview of Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective

o    Importance and execution of each event

·        Scrum Artifacts

o    Overview of Scrum artifacts: Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Increment

o    Managing and updating artifacts during the project lifecycle

·        Case Study: Running a Sprint

o    Hands-on exercise simulating a Sprint

DAY THREE

Advanced Scrum Practices and Agile Tools

·        Advanced Scrum Practices

o    Scaling Scrum for larger projects (Scrum of Scrums, SAFe, LeSS)

o    Continuous improvement and Agile metrics (velocity, burn-down charts)

·        Introduction to Agile Tools

o    Overview of popular Agile project management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana)

o    Selecting and configuring tools for Scrum projects

·        Case Study: Agile Project Management

o    Hands-on exercise using Agile tools to manage a Scrum project

o    Tracking progress and adjusting plans based on Agile metrics

·        Wrap-Up and Review

o    Review of key concepts covered in the course

o    Q&A session and feedback

o    Certification test (optional)
